Winmerge For Mac

  1. WinMerge 2.16.0 supports Windows XP and later. It runs on both 32 bit and 64 bit Windows. WinMerge 2.14.0 was the last version to support Windows 2000. WinMerge 2.12.4 was the last version to support Windows 95, 98, ME and NT.
  2. Beyond Compare runs on Mac OS X, as well as Windows 8 and above. Is there a better alternative? Beyond Compare is excellent, but KDiff3 and WinMerge are great alternatives that provide the same functions for free, and Meld is another similar choice.
  3. By Thingamahoochie Software WinMerge is a tool for visual difference display and merging, for both files and directories. It is highly useful for determining what has changed between file versions.

Winmerge For Windows 10

What is Meld?

Winmerge-development WinMerge 3.0 for the Mac. From: Sam Carleton - 2011-10-16 22:03:49. Attachments: Message as HTML. I am both a C# and C developer. These days the C I do is mostly Qt, a framework in which I am passionate. I also happen to own a Mac. In the info on the web site it talks about v3.0 running on Windows. WinMerge plugins are custom dlls or scriptlets, written in the COM API, that preprocess data before a comparison. For example, you can use a plugin to extract text data from MS Word files for WinMerge to compare. Plugins are not included by default when you install WinMerge, you have to select them during installation to get them installed.

Diff Tool For Mac

Meld is a visual diff and merge tool targeted at developers. Meld helps you compare files, directories, and version controlled projects. It provides two- and three-way comparison of both files and directories, and has support for many popular version control systems.

Meld helps you review code changes and understand patches. It might even help you to figure out what is going on in that merge you keep avoiding.

Features

  • Two- and three-way comparison of files and directories
  • File comparisons update as you type
  • Auto-merge mode and actions on change blocks help make merges easier
  • Visualisations make it easier to compare your files
  • Supports Git, Bazaar, Mercurial, Subversion, etc.
  • …and more

Meld is licensed under the GPL v2, except as noted.

Getting it

Meld is packaged for most Linux/Unix distributions, including Fedora, Ubuntu, and Suse. Unless you want the absolutely latest version, you should install Meld through your package manager.

Windows users should download the MSI, or for older releases, check out the Meld installer project.

On OS X, Meld is not yet officially supported. For pre-built binaries, these OS X builds are the best option. You can also get Meld from MacPorts, Fink or Brew; none of these methods are supported.

You can also run Meld without installing it. Just extract the archive and run bin/meld from the archive folder.
